SSC GD Exam Syllabus

SSC GD 2020 Examination Pattern
The examination pattern is also an important element of any examination that a candidate should know before appearing in the examination. We have shown the SSC GD 2020 examination pattern with the examination stages plus defining each stage thoroughly.
The SSC GD Examination comprises four stages, that are mentioned below by describing them all.
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE) – This is an online computer-based Examination which is conducted on the computer. This is the objective type examination in which for every question there would be four suggested answers, the candidate will have to choose the right answer and then he/she has to tick on the right answer with the help of a mouse. This examination syllabus is divided into two four parts i.e this examination will consist of four subjects which are mentioned below.
- General intelligence and reasoning
- General Awareness and General knowledge
- Elementary mathematics
- Language Hindi/English
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – This is the second stage of the SSC GD Examination as to reach on the second stage the candidates needs to clear the first stage of examination that is a computer-based examination, after clearing computer-based examination the candidate will get shortlisted based on merit and the shortlisted will give the physical efficiency test and based on height, weight and race they will get selected for the further stage that is a physical standard test. The physical efficiency test is based on the following criteria.
- For male candidates: 5 km Race in 24 minutes
- For female candidates: 1.6 km Race in 8.5 minutes
Candidates belong to Ladakh regions need to follow the following criteria
- For male candidates: 1 mile in 6.5 minutes
- For female candidates: 800 meters in 4 minutes
- The candidates belonging to the ex-servicemen category will appear directly for Physical efficiency test/physical standard test after clearing computer-based examination and they have to give measurements of height, chest, weight only. But they have to clear the detailed medical examination (DME).
- Physical Standard Examination (PSE) – With the help of a table we have shown the factors on which the clearing of physical standard examination is based. The physical standard examination is based on three factors which are as follows.

- Detailed Medical Examination (DME) – After clearing the physical efficiency test the shortlisted candidate will have to appear in the Detailed medical examination on which the candidates are medically examined by the medical board constituted by CAPF’s. To check the candidates are fit on Detailed medical examination, the candidates have to clear the examination which is based on two factors which are mentioned below.
- Eyesight
- Medical Fitness
